Town of Rhinebeck
Planning and Zoning

As Town Planner for the Town of Rhinebeck, GREENPLAN helped prepare a new Comprehensive Plan, a new Zoning Law, a Freshwater Wetlands Local Law and new Subdivision Regulations, which were all adopted on December 29, 2009. Planning techniques included Conservation Subdivision, voluntary TDR, use of LEED or equivalent green building technologies, adaptive reuse of historic structures, a 25 point affordable housing program, biodiversity assessment standards, density reductions in rural areas and density increases in already settled areas (i.e. Centers and Greenspaces Plan), encouraging farming and forestry as viable economic use of open space, and creation of Townwide Design Standards. A short summary of the Plan can be found below along with PDF files of the documents, as adopted.
